Premier Badminton League (PBL) 2017 started with a bang on Jan 1st, 2017 with the first face off between Hyderabad Hunters and Chennai Smashers

The opening match was a thriller with Carolina Marin playing against P.V. Sindhu for the opening game. The quality of the game brought back memories from the Rio Olympics and the crowd and everybody present were in for a visual treat. The opening match saw a see-saw affair and with both the players winning a set each, it was on to the decider which was eventually won by Marin easily.
