Sporting is a Professional Club which was founded in 1999 after Cidade de Goa was disbanded. It is the second club after Vasco Club which has a public shareholding and is based in Panjim. The club shot into limelight in their first appearance in Federation Cup in 2001 and have been playing in the NFL since 2003-04.
