Mohun Bagan Athletic Club
Mohun Bagan was established in 1889 at Bhupen Bose Avenue, Kolkata. It started playing in the IFA Shield from 1909 and created History by winning the Shield in 1911. It started playing in the local Kolkata League (Second Division) from 1914. The Club celebrated its Platinum Jubilee with grandeur in 1964 and Centenary in 1990. Mohun Bagan have been sponsored by United Breweries since 1998 and have been re-named McDowell Mohun Bagan. It has toured East Africa and South East Asia in the past. Three of their former Captains, the Late Goshto Paul, the Late Sailen Manna and Chuni Goswami have been conferred with Padma Shree awards. The Club has been playing in Federation Cup from inception in 1977 and NFL from 1997-98.
