23-Nov-16 | 46 | Mumbai City FC Matías Defederico 32′, Krisztián Vadócz 60′, | 2 – 0 | Chennaiyin FC | Mumbai Football Arena |
Bolstered by their last thumping win against Kerala Blasters, Mumbai dominated the game from the beginning and eventually took the lead in 32′ with Defedrico putting the ball in the back of the net after a smart move on the left flank.
After half-time it was pretty much dominated by Mumbai as Chennai seems to lose the plot and lose their way in staging a comeback.
The second half seemed more like Mumbai’s turf as they dominated the play and in the end it was superb volley shot from Vadócz to extend the lead in the 60th minute.
With this win Mumbai FC are the first team to make it to the Semi-Finals and look like a strong contender to be this season’s ISL champion along with Delhi Dynamos.
